The multiple lives of Sophie La Rosière
A workshop with art students from the Ecole Européenne Supérieure d’Art de Bretagne
Villa Vassilieff has invited art professionals and students of the Arts European School of Bretagne - Lorient to participate in a workshop led by Iris Häussler and Catherine Sicot. Students will explore fiction as a methodology and be invited to expand on Sophie La Rosière’s biography.

Thursday May 12
“Dîner de Têtes”
A component of the Sophie La Rosière project will be staged and filmed at Villa Vassilieff on May 12th. A « Dîner de Têtes » gathering French participants and collaborators to date will give shape to an historical and artistic discussion while celebrating the importance of social relations in the development of the project. The conversations will serve as a part for Iris Häussler’s video installation in her upcoming shows of Sophie La Rosière in Toronto.

D’autres gestes : usages des patrimoines #2
Iris Häussler, project curators Catherine Sicot and Philip Monk and their guests will contribute to the international seminar D’autres gestes : usages des patrimoines #2 with a conversation addressing fiction as a tool for investigation.

A video work by Iris Häussler, mapping the trace of Sophie La Rosière’s work in her studio, is currently on view in the Groupe Mobile exhibition at Villa Vassilieff.
