    Open Studio - Patricia Belli
    SATURDAY, APRIL 6, from 3 P.M. to 7 P.M

    at the Pernod Ricard Studio at Villa Vassilieff

    Originally from Nicaragua, the artist works to create both sculp­tural and sonorous pieces in which the bal­ance of power between sta­bility and insta­bility, dom­i­na­tion and resis­tance is embodied.
    The topic of the com­mit­ment, is at the heart of his works that reflect the var­ious prob­lem­atic that define it, from vio­lence to fear and com­pas­sion. The artist is her­self com­mitted to the Nicaraguan art scene by founding in 2001 the school EspiRA, a lab­o­ra­tory of artistic edu­ca­tion.
    This day will be an oppor­tu­nity for the public to dis­cuss with the artist about her prac­tice and the var­ious lines of research that ani­mates her.
    During this res­i­dency pro­gram, Patricia Belli wishes to link her artistic thinking to envi­ron­mental issues by using more respectful mate­rials such as ceramics.
